Really good episode!

I liked the fallout from the Ryan/Danielle story having an effect on so many people. While it was a bit manipulative what Ryan and Travis did, it frankly didn't come across as that bad to me. I definitely feel like Brent was overreacting and partially because he lost a leg an all and doesn't particularly like Ryan anyway. I felt Danielle's reasons for being upset were a bit more legit. And I really enjoyed Ryan's conversation with Molly.

I feel like Tim's blow up at Travis went a long way toward those who think the Fishers have too readily accepted Ryan. Tim will be in the same room with him, but he still can't particularly stand him.

Kinda knew Elly would be going to see Danielle, but I'm very eager to see how this resolves itself. Same for Samantha, nice beats with her being frightened over the car incident. I'm sure that will lead into a new story for her, so I'll wait things out.

Anyway, good episode!

I just want to say that I love the dynamic of Travis going to Ryan for help instead of his father Tim. I like the fact that it's acknowledged that Tim still doesn't stand Ryan, after all, he has every reason not to.

I also like how travis realized it was a bad idea to force Danielle and Elly to confront one another and I love that you included the fallout. I think there is so much unexpressed between the two women. Glad they seem to be coming around (depending on how the next episode goes).

Samantha having bad dreams about what happened to her is completely realistic and her wanting to face them on her own (or just ignore them all together) is such a Diane and Tim thing to do. I love how she combines the two of their personalities in so much ways. I just hope things get easier for her and glad that the younger set are getting storylines that tie into the adults storylines and they don't seem forced like so many tv soaps do.

As for Ryan and Danielle. I hope they make it through this, I really have grown to care for both of them together. But i think Danielle ahs every right to be cautious, especially when he pulls something like this!

Carry on! And I cannot wait to read the 600th episode! Congratualtions Michael that is quite an accomplishment!

Thanks for the feedback, guys!

The idea of putting Travis and Ryan in each other's spheres, thanks to their respective relationships with Elly and Danielle, is one of the things that made me bring in Elly to begin with. It's a fun undercurrent to play, especially with Tim finding out and having to express how he feels about Ryan. As much as he's tried to be mature and had to work alongside Ryan, he still is never, ever going to like the guy. It's one thing to endure him being at a family dinner; it's another to have your kid teaming up with him.

It was weird, but I didn't realize this was such a teen-centric episode until I finished writing it. I'm pretty happy with how the kids' stories are interwoven with the adults. There's a lot of stuff driving me nuts and that I'd like to improve, but those setups are really working for me, and it's gratifying to hear that you're also appreciating and enjoying them.

This was a fun episode to write, honestly. I felt like I got back into a bit of a groove, and it's the kind of soap I want FP to be. Not a bad place to be in as I hit #600!

A miracle has occurred, you made me tolerate the teen story lines for once Michael. I really loved this episode.

Travis/Ryan/Tim- I LOVE this new dynamic mainly because I really get where everyone's reactions came from and really where their intentions were at. I at first found Travis really annoying but I really warmed up to him in this episode.

Samantha- I REALLY loved her scenes and that is hard for me to do with a teen, but to see her deal with the fallout of the kidnapping is great. Something that I think was needed to have me warm up to her.

Elly/Danielle- I really enjoy this story line because I feel that you have spent a lot of time building it up and I do hope that they come to an agreement.

Again a great read Michael! It was great to stop in for a few hours and catch up on all I missed. I don't like teens but I am glad to see that they are coming into their own so to speak now that they have graduated high school.

Finally caught up enough to catch up on some reading this morning! Glad I did because this was a nice, revealing episode. I like when the Fisher's feelings about Ryan come into play. You do a good job of balancing it so as not to thrust it down readers' throats on a too-frequent basis. But a gentle reminder now and then has been well played.

My, people are certainly bent out of shape about Travis and Ryan inviting Elly and Danielle to that party! I thought Danielle pushing Ryan away was a little drastic. But then again she has always seemed a little skittish to me and I can see that any bump in the road would send her into emotional upheaval, so I do buy it. I am curious as to what brought Elly to the door! Is she there to talk to her calmly or is she there to tell her that under no circumstances does she ever want to lay eyes on her again? I'm eager to find out.

Molly and Brent: Nice to see her inviting him to stay. I could of course always understand her issues with him during the investigations into Loretta, but I secretly think it would serve her right if he at least played a little bit hard to get. I guess that could be where Claire comes in?

Great episode Michael. Can't believe the next one is # 600!!

Thanks, Kelly! It's great to know that the younger characters' stories are working for you, especially since you're predisposed not to enjoy them. I try to regard them not as "teen characters," but just characters who happen to be younger than some of the others. I've had some missteps with them along the way, but I find that they work best when their stories are interwoven with the adults' and grow naturally out of them. I'm not particularly interested in a bunch of teenage love triangles, but I really enjoy utilizing them in this sort of capacity.

Yeah, it definitely fits for who Danielle specifically is -- not to mention that they've had trust issues in the past, and no matter his intentions, Ryan always seems to think that he needs to take Big!Action! to solve problems. This is really the culmination of a whole bunch of other stuff, and Danielle being unwilling to give herself fully over to someone.

Thanks! And me neither. I remember writing #500 so clearly... and #400... and heck, #1. So weird!

Hey Michael,

Sorry about the delay ... nice read over all. I love the Travis/Tim connection the most I think. I like how Tim is still weary of Ryan, because he has every right to be. Some things, even though you forgive, you never forget. I'm not overly surprised by the ending, I saw it coming as soon as Elly wanted to leave the house. Really, she's always been so mature about things, I'm surprised she was so hard on Travis for so long.

I sure hope Danielle and Ryan are able to work things out though, they have become one of my favorite stable couples!

Nice read,

d

Thanks for taking the time to post, Dallas! I have to get over there and check out the ODAAT miniseries, too!

As I said above, I like keeping the Tim/Ryan dynamic where it is. Tim's a fairly mature guy, and he's handled this whole thing well, but he has Ryan's number, and he isn't just going to be "okay" with him. Especially not when Travis is getting mixed up with the guy!

Thanks again for the post.
